The Murfreesboro News
The Murfreesboro News was published from 1953-1965 and was one of several newspapers that primarily served the African American community of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is located in Rutherford County.
The Murfreesboro News is the successor to The Murfreesboro Union, which was published from 1920 to 1953. Following the death of owner and publisher Mary Ellen Vaughn, The Murfreesboro Union was renamed The Murfreesboro News under the leadership of Pearl Stewart Wade.
