The Courier
The Courier is Murfreesboro, Tennessee's earliest newspaper. Beginning in 1814, The Courier was edited and published by G.A. Sublett and A.C. Sublett. The Courier offered news items, stories, essays, advertisements, and business notices.
Although issues are scarce, author Rita Frost Lynch found issues from 1830 to 1832 in the attic of the historic Ezra Jones Home. Lynch utilized these issues for her book A Glimpse Of News Past: The Courier, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, 1830-1832.
