Tennessee Folklore Society Bulletin

The Tennessee Folklore Society Bulletin is the official publication of the Tennessee Folklore Society, an organization founded in 1934 by professional folklorists, community scholars, arts presenters, and those who hold an interest in preserving, studying, and celebrating the folk arts and cultural traditions of the Mid-South.

The Tennessee Folklore Society Bulletin is the longest continuously published regional folklore journal in the United States and contains articles and studies on the various aspects of folklore investigation within the State of Tennessee. It was initially published four times a year but is now published on an occasional schedule.

The first two volumes are titled Bulletin of the Tennessee Folklore Society, which is the preceding publication of the Tennessee Folklore Society Bulletin.

This publication includes historical materials that reflect the beliefs and perspectives of their times, some of which may be offensive to users. The Library & Archives does not endorse the views expressed in these materials.
