Williamson County Archives

The Williamson County Archives collects, preserves, and provides access to county records with enduring administrative and historical value. The Archives Department is the official repository for the records of Williamson County Government, and we also collect historically significant community records and make them available to the public. Our holdings date back to the founding of Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1799 and include a variety of unique primary sources, including original paper documents, bound record books, microfilm, and scanned images.

Through our Reading Room, researchers can view historical wills, court records, maps, newspapers, and a variety of other locally focused resources. Our Reading Room is open to researchers during regular business hours. Archives staff are available on-site in the Reading Room, as well as remotely via phone, mail, and email, to assist with historical, professional, and genealogical research.
